Histone deacetylase 9 promotes vascular inflammation by activating IKK Version 1
External LinkComparison of TNFα activated BMDM from B6.129P2-Apoetm1Unc/J mice treated with the inhibitors TMP195 or TPCA-1. Cells were treated for 1h with the respective inhibitors, followed by 24h stimulation with TNFα and subsequently lysed in Trizol.

Rationale: Arterial inflammation manifested as atherosclerosis is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Genome-wide association studies have identified a prominent role of HDAC (histone deacetylase)-9 in atherosclerosis and its clinical complications including stroke and myocardial infarction.
